Under general supervision, provide expertise and leadership in scheduling and prioritizing contracting activities at assigned site. Oversee safety, quality, and performance of outside service contractors. Serve as site expert and company representative, interfacing with contractors and multiple disciplines within the company on contracting activities.

  • Perform contracting activities through the administration of contract requests, participating in sourcing activities and award recommendations, onboarding and offboarding of contractors, and issuing routine correspondence

  • Ensure contracts assigned are maintained and updated and that the payment methods are in place to ensure prompt payment to contractors

  • Review and approve invoices for correctness and accuracy of contractor work

  • Lead and drive collaborative sourcing efforts with stakeholders in outsourcing activities to include, but not limited to, insourcing/outsourcing decisions, development of scopes of work, and contractor performance activities

  • Establish and monitor planned contractor schedules for plant/equipment within assigned area

  • Review and assist in prioritizing work schedules

  • Review and report on contracting budgets and run rates mitigating any potential risks

  • Monitor and report safety, health, and environmental requirements

  • Ensure manpower and work force skills are adequate and quality standards are met

  • Utilize tools and resources in communicating contractor requirements and follow up on contractor work quality and completion

  • Master a working knowledge of Company’s contracting standards, programs, and goals

  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GEDandfour (4) years of specific experience in maintenance, supply chain, or operations within a mining/manufacturing environment;OR

  • High School diploma or GEDandfour (4) years of related experience in maintenance, supply chain, or operations within a mining/manufacturing environment including specific Planning experience;OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering or related field, with no experience required

  • Working knowledge of contracting activities


  • Experience managing Contractors and Contracts

  • Experience facilitating on-boarding processes from contractors to stakeholders – ensure timely responses to document deficiencies and updates

  • Experience with the maintenance of Contractor Badges – (De)Activation based on status of contract and/or training

  • Experience maintaining Daily Contractor Manpower Reports

  • Experience maintaining files of proper training documentation for all contractors

  • Knowledge and/or experience with SAP

  • Knowledge and/or experience with CAS

  • Knowledge and/or experience with Business Objects

  • Knowledge and/or experience with MetaStor

  • Knowledge and/or experience with Microsoft Office


  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English

  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment

  • Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see

  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to thirty (30) pounds) during the course of the workday

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
