Assist Benefit Specialist in the administration of company Benefit programs according to the Summary Plan Descriptions and the Benefit Services Policies and Procedures. Make quick, accurate decisions utilizing resources such as, systems, FAQs and good judgment to resolve or escalate customer issues. Responsible for meeting performance targets. Must use discretion, demonstrate integrity and maintain employee confidentiality.
Assist with Benefit plan enrollment processing including: reviewing daily reports to maintain integrity of the benefits data, troubleshooting eligibility issues, and distributing enrollment forms, reminder letters and confirmation statements
Perform audits of various file report logs
Accurately respond to inquiries and request about claim problems, interpretation of plan/program provisions, eligibility issues, status changes (marriage, death, birth, divorce, etc.) through calls, email, mail and fax
Serve as a liaison between benefit vendors and employees to resolve issues
Maintain Benefit records and prepare documents necessary for implementing Benefit coverage
Assist with special projects as requested, such as annual enrollment (AE), dependent audits, beneficiary form initiatives, AE audits, etc.
Perform additional duties as requested
Two (2) years of experience in Benefits, Human Resources, or related field
Solid computer skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to demonstrate empathy and build rapport with customers
Must be well organized and attentive to details
Strong collaboration skills and able to work in a team environment
Strong problem solving skills
General computer and phone technology/applications
Ability to quickly learn new technology applications

High School diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related disciplineandone to two (1 to 2) years of Benefits Administration and Customer Service
Knowledge of benefits
Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
Position is in busy, non-smoking office located in Phoenix, AZ
Work is mostly performed in an office setting
Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator and internal staircase
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to ten (10) pounds
Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other protective equipment as required
