Under limited supervision, this position requires identification, analysis, reporting, and recommendations on a wide variety of utility ratemaking and energy policy issues inside a sophisticated energy supply organization operating within many jurisdictions often as the largest consumer. Coordinates between internal and external partners to ensure operations have access to sustainable, reliable and cost-effective power supply options. Responsible for a variety of business and administrative activities that may include financial analysis, accounting, reconciliations, and billing related to providing power to mining operations.
Plans, develops and implements programs to ensure proper oversight, prioritization of company resources, and compliance with utility regulatory opportunities and requirements.
Research's energy policy and evaluates business impacts to ensure the company remains competitive under evolving federal and state regulatory environments.
Provides analysis, strategic guidance, and program coordination for utility regulatory proceedings across multiple jurisdictions simultaneously.
Performs reporting to regulatory authorities and utilities to ensure the company meets all business and regulatory requirements.
Works cooperatively across the organization to communicate pending or upcoming regulatory proposals and impacts to operations.
Obtains input from and collaborate with internal customers to align engagement strategy based on supply options and risk preferences.
Represents the Company to external stakeholders including utilities, regulators, industry, and public interest groups to build partnerships and implement energy supply solutions.
Coordinates and supports the preparation of data requests and responses, testimony, work papers, exhibits, and models. Works closely with technical experts and external regulatory counsel to develop effective and persuasive communications.

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or other relevant areaandseven (7) years of related experience in a utility, Public Utility Commission (PUC), or Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in a regulatory capacity;OR
Master's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or other relevant areaandfive (5) years of related experience in a utility, Public Utility Commission (PUC), or Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)in a regulatory capacity
Thorough understanding of utility ratemaking, regulatory environment, and policy issues
Strong negotiating, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work self-directed from identifying opportunities to implementing solutions
Ability to follow safety practices and recognizing hazards.
MBA, JD, or relevant advanced degree
Direct experience representing the interests of energy buyers while working with electric utilities and regulatory commissions
Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
Position is in busy, non-smoking office located in downtown Phoenix, AZ
Location requires mobility in an office environment; each floor is accessible by elevator and internal staircase
Occasionally work may be performed in a mine, outdoor or manufacturing plant setting
Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk
Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to ten (10) pounds
Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
