Freeport McMoRan Technical Expert, Structural Geology in Papua, Indonesia
Provide comprehensive and in depth technical expertise and training in the field of structural geology to PTFI mine and regional geology groups to ensure performance target and objectives achievement are met in a safe, effective and efficient working environment within specific company guidelines and legal requirements.
Support and analyze structural geology measurement of rock geometries to uncover history of deformation in the rock-mas of PTFI deposits, and ultimately, to understand observed strain and geometries of deformation.
Identify process improvement opportunities to ongoing operational management and practice of the department and recommend best practice actions and solutions.
Provide expert technical assistance to department head in developing the structural geology mapping and modeling skills of the staff.
Provide expert assistance to PTFI Geo-engineering staff on all geologic structural analysis and modeling project work.
Provide high level strategic feedback/review of the projects (existing and potential) to the department head to support department head's decision making.
Conduct global industry research and provide technical advice to each head of section on current industry best practices.
Understand and be aware of safety and environmental practices in the work area ensuring that safe work practices for yourself, working colleagues and contract workers are in compliance with company Safety and Environmental SOPs.
Schedule regular instruction and inspection and insist on completion of all company policy requirements by subordinates to ensure compliance with company Safety and Environmental SOPs.
Completion of other tasks assigned by management.
Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Geology, Engineering or large scale, complex underground mining related science discipline with at least fifteen (15) years of experience in the industry with focus on structural geology.
Geomodeling expertise with focus on structural interpretation.
Twelve (12) to fifteen (15) years of experience in Geological, Structural Analyses and/or Geotechnical Engineering professional background.

Prefer a higher degree in Geology or Engineering with experience in Mine Geology and strong emphasis on Structural Geology.
Basic level of the Indonesian language in understanding and oral (preferable but not essential).
