Under general supervision, provides technical expertise, guidance and leadership for a variety of designated Engineering projects and programs at assigned site.

  • Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects

  • Serve as Project Manager or Technical Expert, on a wide range of small to medium site construction, expansion or modification projects

  • Evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment

  • Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable processes, practices, and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations

  • May contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areas

  • May represent the site on company sponsored steering teams, such as Mill Operations, Refinery Operations, etc.

  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Engineering disciplineandthree (3) years of related experience in Engineering,includingProject Management experience,OR

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate Engineering disciplineandtwo (2) years of related experience in Engineering,includingProject Management experience

Preferred

  • Ability to collaborate with peers in the same area/department along with Engineering teams and site based operational personnel

  • Ability to work under frequent supervision within limits of assigned work area

  • Willing and able to work in a potentially stressful environment

  • Prepare Mechanical and Piping designs

  • Prepare Material take-off, requests for proposals, bid evaluation and recommendations for goods and services

  • Must develop working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations appropriate with area of assignment

  • Willing and able to work in an office based setting with occasionally working in a mine or manufacturing plant setting

  • Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see

  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the course of the workday

  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
